Yesterday I received an email announcing that this year's Spotify Wrapped is about to be released. Spotify first released Wrapped back in 2016 but I think last year was the first year it popped up directly in the mobile app. Prior to that I used to receive Spotify Wrapped as an email. Usually around the first week of December.

Email announcing Spotify Wrapped is coming soon

Spotify Wrapped annual listening stats are usually released in the first week of December. They are not released to everyone at the same time, so if you haven’t received your stats and your friends have, be patient. To get Spotify Wrapped on time, update your Spotify app to the latest version and have notifications turned on.

When Will You Receive Spotify Wrapped 2022?

I’m pretty sure that Spotify staggers the release, so you might receive your stats before or after your friends. Especially if you live in different parts of the world. I live in Australia and last year I received my Wrapped on the 2nd December, which was earlier than my friends in the UK.

If you didn’t receive the teaser email it’s likely because you don’t have notifications turned on. To be sure you don’t miss out on Spotify Wrapped, I always recommend turning on all notifications and updating the Spotify app to the latest version.

How To Turn on Notifcations To Receive Spotify Wrapped

Settings icon in Spotify app

You can turn on notifications in the mobile app by clicking on the setting icon in the top right corner. Scroll down to notifications, and I recommend having both Spotify Features and Tips, and Spotify Experiences Made For You enabled.

Notifications in Spotify mobile app settings

To be extra safe, you can of course enable everything for the first week of December, when Spotify are due to release wrapped. However, this is probably unnecessary. It’s likely Wrapped will still appear in your mobile app, even if you don't have notifications enabled.

Spotify Wrapped Just For Premium?

I always thought Wrapped was only available on the Premium tier, but last year many of my YouTube subscribers commented that they received Wrapped on the free tier as well. They also hoped Spotify would make Wrapped available on desktop and on mobile, so fingers crossed for that this year too.

While you’re waiting, you can always check out yours and other people’s top songs from previous years by searching for Spotify Wrapped playlists.

You can also check out the top songs for your country by browsing to open.spotify.com/genre/ followed by the year. This will bring back all sorts of stats for your region but unfortunately, it only seems to work on a desktop browser, not on mobile.
