If you’ve ever accidentally signed up for an annual Grammarly subscription and instantly changed your mind or your subscription auto-renewed without you realizing, you may want to cancel your subscription and request a refund.
To cancel a Grammarly subscription, log into your Grammarly account from a laptop or desktop internet browser. You cannot cancel Grammarly from a mobile browser or using the mobile app. On your Grammarly account page, click on Subscriptions. At the bottom of the page is the option to Cancel.

It’s worth noting that Grammarly subscriptions do auto-renew by default. So, if you decided to cancel, you should act sooner rather than later. It’s easy to forget, especially if you stop using Grammarly or only use it periodically.
Steps To Cancel Your Subscription
Browse to Grammarly.com
This needs to be done on a desktop or laptop. You cannot log into your account from a mobile phone browser or using the mobile app.
Log in to your account.
In My Grammarly, select Account from the menu.
In your Account, choose Subscription.
At the bottom of the page is the option to Cancel.
Confirm by clicking, 'Yes, Continue.'
Having cancelled your subscription you can now apply for a refund.
It is worth noting that Grammarly’s Terms of Service state they do not provide refunds after the renewal date has passed. However, on researching this article I read many forums where people have successfully received a refund having contacted Grammarly as soon as possible after the renewal occurred.
Grammarly's Terms of Service state:
“If you cancel after your subscription renewal date, you will not receive a refund for any amounts that have been charged. Your cancellation will be effective at the end of your then-current subscription period, subject to applicable law, and you may use the Services until your cancellation is effective (unless your access is suspended or terminated as set forth below)”.
How to Apply for a Refund from Grammarly
Go to: support.grammarly.com
Choose Billing and Subscription.
Choose the option, ‘I’d like to request a refund.’
Explain your reasons in the box provided.
Upload any images to support your claim.
Click, ‘Submit.’
Do You Need To Wait Until Your Subscription Is Due To Expire To Cancel?
Your Grammarly subscription will continue up to the end of your billing period, regardless of when you cancel. Canceling your subscription early will not affect your access to Grammarly Premium until your subscription date expires. So if you sign up for a year and decide within the first month to cancel, you will have access to Grammarly premium features for the next 11 months.
